what makes kids happy?

According to a new AP-MTV poll of 13-24 year olds, the answer is "spending time with family". Rated next highest? "Spending time with friends" and "spending time with a significant other".

Nearly 3/4ths said their relationship with their parents makes them happy. And when asked to name their heroes, half listed a parent (with Moms beating out Dads, 29-21).

Not surprisingly, divorce harms happiness. Among 13-17 year olds, 64 percent of those with parents still together said they wake up happy, compared to 47 percent of those with divorced parents.

Invest in your marriage, your kids, your family. As the old saying goes: when it's all over, you'll never say that you spent too much time with your kids.
