stats from and thoughts on Nevada and South Carolina
Interesting numbers from today's action:
-Hillary wins the popular vote over Obama in Nevada (51-45), but loses the delegate count (13-12).
-Paul finishes second to Romney in Nevada, earning more votes than every other Republican and Democrat in that state. Paul earns more than Huckabee and Giuliani combined. Paul more than triples Giuliani in Nevada (and nearly doubles him in South Carolina). It will be hilarious, a delicious irony, and perhaps even a moral victory if Paul ends up with more delegates and votes than Giuliani.
-Are Hunter&Thompson done now? It'd be a shame to see Thompson go; he was the next best candidate, compared to Paul. But he's not going anywhere. Hunter was solid too but unable to get any traction (common for those running out of the House). They can stay, I suppose, but it seems pointless.
-Is Edwards done? He can't leave soon enough for me. I can't stand the class warfare rhetoric, especially when it's not backed up with legitimate policy options to help the working poor and those in the middle class.

Doug Wead, has in my opinion the best analysis of Huckabee and Romney's run for the GOP. With the Thompson and Hunter votes going to one the the two, I believe this article hits the nail on the head. It is a must read.
