IPR on Indiana property taxes
The newest issue of the Indiana Policy Review has arrived.
After my WSJ article and some other activity in the public arena, the IPR Foundation's editor, Craig Ladwig, asked me to edit the issue on property taxes. And so, I was privileged to bring together many of those who have invested energy into studying this complex, important, and politically charged topic.
Craig has made at least five of the articles available on the website:
-two articles by my colleague Dagney Faulk-- on the chronology of property tax reform in Indiana as well as the economics and politics of the property tax (vs. other taxes-- e.g., sales)
-Andy Horning's piece on what the Indiana Constitution says about property taxes
-one of Larry DeBoer's essays-- on whether we've already "fixed" the problem (at least as far as we're going to go right now, politically)
-an analysis of Governor Daniels' plan by Michael Hicks and Cecil Bohanon
In addition to the editing, I contributed two small pieces-- a prologue and an epilogue.
Enjoy!
