the annual cost of gasoline
Kenn Gividen's semi-tongue-in-cheek blog entry got me thinking...
When the cost of a gallon of gasoline rises dramatically, then the cost of driving rises dramatically as well. Brain science, huh? That's the kind of quick analysis I can do with a PhD in Econ! ;-)
OK, but here are some numbers-- putting some tangible meat on those expensive bones...
If one drives 20,000 miles per year with $3/gallon gasoline,
then a car that gets
15 MPG will have a fuel bill of $4000/year
20 MPG will have a fuel bill of $3000/year
25 MPG will have a fuel bill of $2400/year
40 MPG will have a fuel bill of $1500/year
50 MPG will have a fuel bill of $1200/year
Just some fuel for thought...
