ROCK-ing porn

This morning, I was able to attend ROCK's latest press conference, using their most recent billboard as an opportunity to publicly address the subject of the billboard: child porn and the impact of porn on the sexual abuse of children. (ROCK stands for Reclaim Our Culture Kentuckiana.)

I like ROCK's approach to this topic for a number of reasons:

-These issues are no-brainers in terms of "justice".

-It is a local approach to a largely local problem.

-They are emphasizing education and persuasion over and above legislation and protest. (ROCK's president, Bryan Wickens, said there far more to this issue than just the law.)

-They are pursuing appropriate enforcement of local laws.

-They are encouraging more uniform and tougher punishment of those who violate state and federal laws.
