problems with single payer health care

I've blogged at length about Michael Moore's film Sicko.

Here's a mini-documentary about a man with a brain tumor in Canada (hat tip: Chris Snider).

The punchline is that the authorities were going to make him wait four months-- and would not let him purchase health care for himself. So, he went to America to get health care.

Despite Moore's anecdotes and pseudo-argument, this observation is more consistent with what one would expect from a government-run system with the need to ration health care given cost considerations.
