Obama vs. anti-Obama

Driving through the district the other day, I saw my first yard signs that opposed an "Obama-nation" in November...

More evidence that this year's presidential race will be, apparently, a referendum on Obama with McCain as a cardboard foil-- by way of modest contrast. Obama wants it that way-- and McCain is willing to accede (or is not capable of much else).

Interestingly, running against the other candidate indicates how destitute one's own candidate is. In this case, most of the Republican party is a mess, reduced to a mere striving for power-- just as their opponents do.

If McCain wins, it puts off the inevitable bubble/correction in the "market" for clear thinking and a return to some semblance of conservative principles-- not good, for the medium-term. If he loses, there will be much gnashing of teeth, but a second butt-kickin' might wake them up.

We'll see....
