alopecia returns for Zach and continues for me

As the dermatologist treated Zach's warts, he warned us about the potential return of Zach's alopecia. (Alopecia results from a hyperactive auto-immune system; calming it down can result in warts.) And his alopecia has returned-- at least in part and at least temporarily.

So far, as two Christmases ago, he's lost a good bit off the top. So it may be alopecia areata-- rather than alopecia totalis (the loss of all head hair) or alopecia universalis (the loss of all hair from the head and the body). Previously, he was nearly the latter, retaining only his upper eyelashes at one point-- before the third medicine (Tazorac) and prayer kicked in.

Meanwhile, Zach takes some comfort in learning that I will always struggle with androgenic alopecia!
