If you're going to drag in the CEO's of the Big Three, why not the key Union reps?
a.) The Democrats are placating-- or at least, trying to limit embarrassment for-- a key interest group.
b.) Congress lacks the political courage to deal with both sides of this equation.
c.) They don't see Labor Unions as a key part of the problem.
Surely it's not C. Probably some combo of A and B.
How true! Same thing happened when they didn't bring in Freddie and Fannie execs during the financial bailouts. I wrote about it here http://tinyurl.com/638bk7
