RIP: Richard John Neuhaus

Richard John Neuhaus died on January 8th.

Why wasn't this bigger news?! I can't believe I didn't hear about this for six days...

Neuhaus was most notable (publicly) for his conversion from Lutheranism to Catholicism, his vocation as the editor of First Things, and as the author of The Naked Public Square.

This a profound loss for me and the Kingdom of God on earth. I will greatly miss his monthly writings in First Things-- as you might be able to tell from all the times I've cited him in this blog.

Here's the Acton Institute's Fr. Robert Sirico with reflections and FT editor Joseph Bottum speaking for those at FT.
(over just the last 18 months).
