prevailing wage proposal in Louisville: unions vs. the economy and taxpayers
From Dan Klepal in the C-J...
Greater Louisville Inc., the Metro Chamber of Commerce, has raised questions about a proposed ordinance that would set minimum labor standards on jobs that are subsidized by tax dollars.
...could make it difficult for small construction firms to compete for government-subsidized developments because of the requirement to pay prevailing wages....The ordinance is sponsored by Jim King, D-10th District, and Rick Blackwell, D-12th. "We'll make sure that whatever we do, Louisville will remain business-friendly," King said.
Uhhh...those are mutually exclusive, Jim.
