the Spelling Bee, Laodicean, and Biblical references to vomit

The winning word this year at this year's National Spelling Bee: Laodicean (wouldn't it be ironic if I misspelled it).

The term originates from the biblical reference to the lukewarm church at Laodicea-- among John's letter to the seven churches in Revelation 2-3.

What does Jesus say to tell the Laodiceans through John? Revelation 3:15-16 tells us:

I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit [or vomit] you out of my mouth.
