Obama's Nobel: Are you kidding me? OR How will the Left respond?

What has President Obama accomplished in any realm-- especially in foreign policy-- and especially something that would be worthy of the Nobel Peace Prize?

Apparently, enough-- which can only mean that the Nobel Peace Prize is somewhere between a worthless award and something chosen (at least this year) by morons and sycophants.

More interesting: how will "liberals" respond? If they're legitimate, they'll respond with disgust, given what he's done in foreign policy. I can imagine some tepid, politically-correct congratulations at most. If they embrace it fully, then they're hypocrites or not truly liberal. (Of course, Democrats will be quite excited. This will be a good way for us to tell the difference-- kinda like Republicans vs. conservatives.)

UPDATE: Here's a rough AP piece by Jennifer Loven (hat tip: Bluegrass Bulletin)...

Eric,

1) Ideas are not independent of one another.
2) An even more common error is the belief that economics professors know what they are talking about;
3) But then, if you can believe the stories of the Bible, then I guess you can believe anything.
4) I completely reject your belief that people outside of the field of economics are unable to understand the world around them.
5) It is amusing that you used the phrase "politically expedient" as it is no doubt a favorite of conservative economics.

Thivai Abhor,

Do you have anything intelligent or specific to debate, or are you just mad that Obama won the peace prize because it has left you in the impossible position of trying to explain why he deserved it?

He was responding to a reply that I had to one of his posts on his blog. He pasted it here and one other place for reasons I don't understand.

If you want to follow that discussion, check out:

Note also that he moderates his comments, so there is no guarantee when or if my most recent reply will show up.
