Yesterday, I heard Rick Santorum-- on Bill Bennett's radio show-- aggressively endorsing Trey Grayson in the Kentucky U.S. Senate race.
Why would he use his political capital to go on a national radio show and take a side in that race? (Then again, he did endorse Arlen Specter against Pat Toomey!) I can see supporting Rand Paul-- or more likely, just staying out of it. But avidly supporting Grayson and claiming to be "conservative"?
This is the same sort of garbage as Mike Pence endorsing Mike Sodrel-- in a GOP primary with two, solid, hard-working and more-conservative candidates in the field (Todd Young and especially Travis Hankins.
Endorse a more conservative candidate, stay out of it, or quit calling yourself a conservative!
Sodrel is a liberal but he is more conservative than Todd Young.

ReplyDeleteEric, Politico reported in a couple of stories that there has been a concerted effort among the Neo-Cons and even Jewish Democrats to sidetrack Rand Paul. Santorum is off that particular stripe, i.e., not to be trusted.
