it's really quite easy: pay for your own primary!

From today's C-J, news that...

The cost of the May 6 primary is among the topics on the agenda for tonight's Floyd County Council meeting.

The council will be asked to cover $78,800 in election expenses, with the costs to be taken from economic development income-tax funds...

The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. in the City-County Building in downtown New Albany.

I'm not an accountant, but it seems like we could charge each party $39,400 to cover it-- or have it charged after the fact per voter from each party. Why take it out of the hides of taxpayers or from "economic development" funds?
