DSM-III on defining normal and deviant

More on Mars Hill Audio, volume 89...

In Ken Myers' interview with Christopher Lane, they discuss the expansion of the DSM in subsequent editions-- and by definition, the shrinking of what constitutes "normal".

Beyond that, they point to less tolerance of shyness in particular and, ironically, deviations from "normal" in general. This connects to my book review of Anne Hendershott's book, The Politics of Deviance in Indiana Policy Review.
