one of my violin teachers

From Mat Herron in LEO...

Virginia Schneider was the principal violist in the Louisville Orchestra for 54 years-- and my violin teacher for awhile when I was a kid. She died a year ago and the LO is having their second memorial concert in her honor on Saturday at 4:30 in the U of L School of Music.

Schneider was the catalyst for bringing the Suzuki method of teaching music to Louisville.

Since music has been such a key part of my life-- and has had such an impact on the rest of my life-- I (and many others) owe her a great debt of gratitude.

Thanks Virginia!
