50 million blobs of tissue

On the occasion of Roe v. Wade's anniversary, the C-J published a letter from Bob Moore.

Moore takes a "Hand of Hope" ad from last week's paper to task for using "nasty language and questionable facts by claiming that over 50 million babies [have been] executed" in the U.S. since Roe v. Wade. Moore argues that "most acorns don't become trees and most conceived embryos don't become people".

Interesting observations, but not much help in questioning the claim.

Today, Bob is toasting the removal of 50 million blobs of tissue from women over the last 36 years. Someday, people will emerge from their flat-earth scientific views on life and protect vulnerable life with progressive values. In the meantime...

I just had a debate on abortion with some animal rights activists- in all places a productivity blog.

They interjected a post about compassion towards animals which quickly became a PETA party and if you're not a vegan you're ignorant.

The premise they used was that anything that suffers should not be killed. I said that obviously unborn babies with spinal cords and nervous systems feel pain, so thus they should not suffer using this logic. Of course all the commentators believed unborn babies cannot feel pain and do not have hopes and dreams like cattle might have. Interesting!

Sometimes I feel like those who purport to study logic and carry an intellectual elitist-like attitude rarely use logic to make their arguments.
