Four Plants for Missionaries

The title of a talk by Dr. Doug Darnowski, Associate Professor of Biology at IUS: next Monday in the IUS library (room 230) from 12:20-1:10.

Dr. Darnowski will discuss four plants or groups of plants which have been used by missionaries to teach (Shamrock, Oxalis sp.; Passionflower, Passiflora sp.), another associated with a very early missionary journey by Joseph of Arimathea (the Glastonbury Thorn, Crataegus oxyacantha ssp. praecox), and, finally, a set just begging to be used, the flowers on the Shroud of Turin (various species, but the timing of their flowering is stunning).
