JCPS continues to hurt others in their pursuit of racial goals

It's not supposed to be about race, so it's been supposedly broadened to other criteria. But from their response, we know that race is still at the top of their list.

In any case, the latest "assignments" put the lie to "school choice" for many of those in JCPS.

Jefferson County's new student-assignment plan is prompting hundreds of angry parents to ask for transfers because their child is being sent to a different elementary school than they requested.

A week after notices were sent out for roughly 12,000 incoming kindergartners and first-graders, officials with Jefferson County Public Schools are being assailed with hundreds of calls and transfer requests from parents questioning their assigned schools.

By noon Friday, more than 250 parents had called the district and 600 had filed transfer requests, and officials expect more this week.

Some parents are complaining that their children are being sent across the county when there's a school near their home.

Holly Blocker, a stay-at-home mom who lives near Stopher Elementary in northeast Jefferson County, said her 5-year-old son was assigned to Byck Elementary 25 miles away, even though her younger son will attend a preschool near home....

Just the type of system that is designed to squelch the type of shenanigans Arne Duncan is promulgating!
Guess he would have to move to Oldham county in order to ensure his kids would go to a school close to his wealthy, suburban home!
