this guy used to drive me NUTS!

Tom Braden died a few weeks ago (hat tip: World)...

He was the long-time "liberal" co-host of Crossfire, died April 3. He used to argue with Pat Buchanan-- and said, what seemed to me, to be the craziest things.

Buchanan has traveled off the reservation a bit since then. It'd be interesting to see if I sided with Braden moreso these days. But I don't think so; if I remember correctly, he was a Statist more than a mere liberal-- at least the arch-persona he crafted as a mutual antagonist with Buchanan.

What I didn't know until I read the blurb in World: Braden authored Eight Is Enough-- the book about his eight children that later became the television sitcom!

I hope he gets to rest in peace...
