Obama talks peace but how will his words and actions be interpreted in the Middle East?
In a sense, it's worse. Bush didn't talk peace and didn't deliver it.
Obama talks peace, eloquently as always-- but more or less continues the approach of his predecessor. (Yes, the policies are somewhat different: an eventual-- promised-- withdrawal from Iraq, but also ramping up in Afghanistan and Pakistan.)
If they still perceive that we are powerful, foreign, democratic occupiers-- the three key variables for suicide terrorism (not religion as is usually assumed)-- does anything change? Does Obama's rhetoric buy us time or just upset them even more?
