"political terrorists", political courage, and political smarts

I don't understand Baron's use of (and then, his insistence on) the term "political terrorists". (Hoosier Pundit ably covers the history here.)

First, even for the knuckleheads who have interfered with a few meetings inappropriately, it's simply not accurate. It's akin to ballplayers who say that athletic events are "war"-- insensitive to those who are engaged in (real) war.

Second, the hyperbole seems unlikely to help him with Hoosier voters-- at least those in the 9th District.

Third, perhaps it's overblown rhetoric to compensate for his cowardice in not holding town hall meetings (when he was so eager to hold them in the election season).

Fourth, Baron tells us, all the time, that he represents the people. And now, he doesn't want to hear from them?

Maybe he hopes to ingratiate himself with Democratic party leadership-- for future races in the U.S. Senate or for governor?
