C-J recognizes that the Bush/Obama stimuli couldn't work!

Awesome! (I think so, anyway.)

From the C-J editorialists in their "Forum Flashes"...

On UK getting rid of former basketball coach, Billy Gillispie:

...what it cost to undo that decision: about $3.25 million in go-away money...That's a lot of money, and whatever the source, it is not now available for other, better purposes. In a poor state beset by economic problems, wasting resources on that scale is appalling.

Simple but solid economic analysis, including the E100 application of "opportunity costs"-- the value of alternative resource use-- as well as a recognition that this is not good for the economy.

Other times, I seem to remember them saying that moving money around like this could be good for an economy. But I must have been wrong. They clearly understand, here, that such money is merely part of a shell game.

Kudos to the C-J!
