Life archive-- stories and photos-- through Google

From Susan Olasky in World...

...every issue of Life magazine, 1936-1972, has been digitized and is now available free online through Google books [to] browse individual issues, reading articles and seeing photographs and advertisements in context. Users have permission to share, print, and post images for personal use.

How to get there?

At Google's frontpage, click on Google books and then Magazines.

To get access to Life magazine's photo archives-- "millions of photographs, most of which never appeared in the magazine"-- do an image search and append "source:life".
