takin' it to the streets

In this morning's (Louisville) Courier-Journal, Jeffrey Lee Puckett describes an effort in local Christian music to take its message and music into traditionally secular settings. They've been to Coyote's (300 in attendance) and a sold-out Hard Rock Cafe. Next up: Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom (on 8/12), 4th Street Live (9/9), Phoenix Hill Tavern (10/7), and an appearance on a local weekly TV show on WBKI (11/4).

The music ranges from rock to contemporary, from traditional worship to folk. The series was started by Mark Maxwell and received early support from Mom's Music and WJIE. For more info, see their fledgling and soon-to-be improving website.

Among the pictures is a shot of Stephen McWhirter, a DC grad, rocking out. Go Steve!

May many be blessed by these efforts and to God be the glory!
