Hill posing as fiscally responsible again

On the occasion of President Bush's visit to New Albany, Baron Hill took some pot-shots at Bush's spending-- as if he and the Democratic Congress are any kind of improvement! While I agree with Hill's critique, he's not someone who's in much of a position to deliver that critique.

From Lesley Stedman Weidenbener's front-page article in today's C-J...

As Bush spoke, Rep. Baron Hill, a Democrat representing Indiana's 9th District, listened in the audience. Hill also had joined Bush and a handful of other leaders at a private lunch at Sam's Food & Spirits in New Albany.

Later, Hill said he welcomed Bush's message about budget restraint but said he found it "odd and ironic that the president has only now begun emphasizing fiscal responsibility."

"For six years, spending ran wild under his leadership and he did nothing to stop it," Hill said in a statement.
