Stars of the PGA tour will fight it out in the final round of the 2008 U.S. Open at the Torrey Pines Golf Course near San Diego. But more eyes could be on a highly anticipated NBC and Golf Digest gimmick. Last year, Tiger Woods said there wasn't a 10-handicap amateur in America who could break 100 under the harsh U.S. Open conditions. One amateur will get his chance to prove Woods wrong with a broadcast version of the Golf Digest challenge starring one amateur playing in a foursome with celebrity golf junkies Tony Romo (Cowboys quarterback), Justin Timberlake (pop singer), and Matt Lauer (Today show anchor).
