John Edwards at IU for $35,000...classy!
From the C-J editorialists today...
John Edwards -- erstwhile presidential candidate and wayward husband -- was paid $35,000 to make a speech this week at Indiana University in Bloomington. The reported fee supported the title of the talk: "The Land of Opportunity."
Earlier this year, Edwards left the public stage in disgrace, having been busted by The National Enquirer for stepping out on his wife, Elizabeth, who has incurable cancer, and possibly being the baby-daddy of the step-outee's child. A narcissistic, televised mea culpa blew back on him, and he disappeared into the wilderness for awhile. He didn't even show up at the Democratic National Convention. But Edwards put his toe back in the public pond at Bloomington, where he talked election and poverty. No mention of the private mess that killed his political career, although he did say Superman was his favorite super-hero.
Interestingly, the C-J included a photo from the YouTube video of Edwards fixing his hair for two minutes...

Here's one IU grad who would give a speech on the Land of Opportunity for a lot less...
