another piece of the Story of Evolution?

From Rafil Kroll-Zaidi in Harpers' "Findings" from June 2009...

A team of paleontologists suggested that dinosaurs developed wings to attract mates. “Maybe they ran around with their arms outstretched,” said the lead researcher, “to show off how pretty their feathers were."

Sure, that sounds like a good story. It's not an explanation, but it adds nicely to the narrative of Evolution (as a comprehensive story about the development of life).
