bad news for teens and the economy: minimum wage goes up by $.70

An update from Alex Davis in the C-J...

Sure, some people will keep their jobs at the higher wage and benefit to some extent.

But overall, artificially increasing the cost of something is generally not good for that thing.

Nor is it good for the macro-economy, which is trying to recover from a deep recession and the appalling policies of Bush, Obama and their Congresses.

And if it's such a great idea, why don't we move it up to $20 per hour. That'll fix things...
