C-J: choice and no restrictions on abortion, but not in other key areas...

From the editorialists of the C-J...

Abortion is a legal medical procedure in the United States. How long it stays that way, or is accessible and affordable to the women who choose it, remains to be seen. Freedom to choose means nothing if the procedure isn't readily available...

Wow...I wish the C-J felt that way about our childrens' education.

Pro-life groups have been effective in lobbying state legislatures around the country to add restrictions to abortion, adding distance, delays and dollars shouldered by women in an already difficult and intensely personal situation.

The C-J seems fond of restrictions on free speech, religion, guns, employment at will, taxes on the working poor, labor regulations that hurt the relatively unskilled, and so on. Why so excited about this one issue?
